Rückwanderer und Weiterwanderer: ein Aspekt der südkoreanischen Arbeitsmigration nach Deutschland

Abstract

"Der Beitrag thematisiert Fragestellungen und Ergebnisse, die in einem internationalen Forschungsprojekt entstanden sind, in dem koreanische und deutsche WissenschaftlerInnen gemeinsam zur südkoreanischen Migration arbeiten. Diskutiert werden zwei mögliche Wege der Migration - die Rück- und Weiterwanderer - als spezifische Formen von Migrationsverläufen. Die Thematisierung wird sowohl mit Blick auf die Migrationsforschung als auch auf die Biographieforschung vollzogen und es wird nach dem Verhältnis der beiden Forschungsrichtungen gefragt. Beispielhaft wird anhand von zwei Kontrastfällen der Verlauf einer triangle-migration skizziert. Auf Grundlage der gemeinsamen Forschungsarbeit werden auch Aspekte des methodischen Vorgehens angesprochen." (Autorenreferat)

"The results of this article are presented against the background of an international research project uniting German and Korean scholars in order to study the Korean working migration to Germany. The article discusses two forms of migration - people who return to their home country and people who continue their migration to a third country - understanding them as specific for migration processes in general and, hence, as a feature of South Korean working migration processes. We discuss this topic both in terms of migrational as well as biographical research, and in contrasting two cases we exemplify in some detail a process that we call 'trianglemigration'. Also based on this procedure common methodological problems are addressed." (author's abstract)
