Abstract

In this anthology, international experts from universities and corporations share their experiences in facilitating the use of information and communication technologies in higher education, focusing on unfolding potentials and possibilities as well as identifying the general conditions necessary. Thirty-five experts address current and future challenges, pointing out some of the issues higher education institutions must tackle when it comes to e-learning, while presenting a large variety of projects and (so far) successful practices. Due to limited resources, increasing competition, and the requirements of a global knowledge society, institutions of (e)learning have to focus more on the development and implementation of e-learning strategies, strategic partnerships, integrated information management services, innovative learning and teaching concepts, continuing education, and quality development. In this book, researchers and practitioners alike will find interesting ideas and insights regarding these topics. URN: urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs0801584
