Publication de notes de Michael Willmann conservées à la bibliothèque de l’abbaye des prémontrés de Strahov à Prague. A la suite de la copie d’un traité de Walter Hermann Ryff, le peintre expose les résultats d’une recherche sur les proportions du corps des enfants. L’auteur étudie le système adopté par Willmann qui s’est inspiré de la compilation des théories sur les proportions idéales du corps humain proposée par Ryff. Il analyse également les motivations du peintre qui s’inscrit dans la tradition héritée de la Renaissance.
