Abstract

Hans Salentin, geb. 1925 in Dueren, taetig in Koeln, gehoert zu den wichtigen deutschen Bildhauern nach 1945. Nach Anfaengen bei der Duesseldorfer Zero-Gruppe entscheidet er sich ab 1962/63 fuer einen eigenen Weg; es entstehen Skulpturen aus gefundenen Aluminiumgussteilen, die Salentin zusammenschraubt und -schweisst und monochrom sprayed. Ab Mitte der 1990er Jahre entstehen Skulpturen aus Kartonagen. Die Dissertation untersucht die Genese des Werkes und dessen Reflexion des zeitgleichen Kunstgeschehens. Sie versucht eine Bewertung der Skulptur Hans Salentins und enthaelt ein Werkverzeichnis seiner Skulpturen.

Translation of abstract (English)

Hans Salentin, born 1925 in Dueren, working in Cologne, is an important German Sculptor after 1945. After a start with the Zero-Group in Duesseldorf, he decided 1962/63 to go an own way. He realized the sculptures with parts of casted aluminium, which he founded, and screwed and welded they together and than he sprayed they monochrome. Since the middle of the 1990s he realizes the sculptures with cardboard. The dissertation analyses this oeuvre and its reflection of the contemporary art. It tries to classify the sculpture of Hans Salentin and contains the oeuvre-catalogue of his sculptures.
