Abstract
Die Psychoanalyse, ausgehend von den Arbeiten C.G. Jungs spricht – den alten Mythen folgend – von der in jedem Menschen vorhandenen "Anima". Die antike Mythologie bewahrt noch weitgehend das Ansehen grenzenloser Weiblichkeit: die Nymphen, die der Natur und Hellseherei stark verbunden sind, die rasenden Mänaden aus dem Kreis des weiblichsten aller Götter, des Dionysos, und die Musen, die der Wissenschaft und den Künsten die Inspiration liefern. Ausgewählte Gemälde der Residenzgalerie Salzburg nehmen antike mythologische Erzählungen zum Thema, in denen sich diese unterschiedlichen Facetten des Weiblichen in der barocken Auffassung und Manier des Höfischen widerspiegeln.
Translation of abstract (English)
Psychoanalysis, starting from the works of C.G. Jung, talks about the "anima" present in every human being following the old myths. Through ancient mythology the boundless female continues to be preserved: in the Nymphs with their strong affinity to nature and prophecy, in the Maenads among the retinue of Dionysus, the most feminine of the gods, and in the Muses, who are a source of inspiration for science and art. The paintings from the stock of the Residenzgalerie Salzburg depict scenes from the ancient mythology which illustrate their theme of femininity and reflect these facets of female nature in accordance with Baroque thought and courtly manners.
