Abstract:

Many events in organisms are rhythmic. Daily rhythms are widespread. We find them in unicellulars, fungi, plants, animals and humans. This field chronobiology' is interesting also for the layman, pupil and student. In this book it is shown, how one can observe these rhythms and how experiments can be performed. First methods and techniques are presented (scientific work, recording methods, analysis of time series, working with models). In the second part of the book examples in plants, animals and men are presented and shown, how significant these rhythms are for the organisms. Finally in a third part it is shown, how rhythms can be taught.
