Zusammenfassung

The compounds (C5(CH3)5)Co(NO)X (X = Cl, Br, I) have been prepared by reaction of [(C5(CH3)5)Co]2(μ-NO)2 with the appropriate dihalogen X2. Either by spontaneous decomposition or by addition of half an equivalent of [(C5(CH3)5)-CoCl]2(μ-Cl)2, the chloro derivative forms the binuclear complex [(C5(CH3)5)-CoCl]2(μ-NO)(μ-Cl), the crystal structure of which indicates the presence of a nitrosyl bridge without a metal-metal bond.
