    <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="eng">Ring opening metathesis poymerisation (ROMP) followed by catalytic dihydroxylation affords macromolecules with 1,2-diol structures. These new macromolecular compositions represent C-glycoside analogues of ribofuranose polymers that are thermally and hydrolytically stable.</dcterms:abstract>
