• Die Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Genre Tierfilm. Es werden die Anfänge und die Entwicklung des Genres beschrieben und vor allem der Zwiespalt zwischen dem Zwang der Unterhaltung und dem wissenschaftlichen Anspruch der Filme erläutert. In der Arbeit wird auf die Art und Weise der Produktion von Tierfilmen eingegangen. Zudem wird der Aspekt, mit dem die Kameramänner an die gewünschten Bilder gelangen, beleuchtet und in den Mittelpunkt gesetzt. Die Arbeit schließt mit einem Ausblick in die Zukunft ab und erörtert die Fragen, inwieweit das Genre Auswirkungen auf unsere Erde hat und welchen Zweck es in Bezug auf den Naturschutz erfüllt.
• The Thesis is concerned with the genre of wildlife films. The initiations and the development of the genre are portrayed and the discord between science and entertainment is elucidated. The focus of this thesis lies in the production process of a wildlife film and in how the cinematographers get the pictures they need. In the end of the thesis a prospect of the future is given, which discusses the questions of the genres role on conservation and its impact on the future of our earth.
