  • The aim of the present thesis is to use project and quality management principles as a basis for working out a connection to a real project workflow or product development process for a “Personal Care” product. Due to economic and industrial circumstances the realisation process of the project takes place at different company locations. While the product is designed and developed in the company headquarter in Europe, the injection mould tools are ordered from the greater area of Shanghai, China, as a measure of price policy. After the „First of Tools“ (FOT) and the first stage of modification, the tools as well as the tool concept and adjustment documents are transferred to Ajka, Hungary, where they get adjusted to the local injection mould machines. The individual components are then manufactured and assembled in Europe. After the local FOT , further modifications and milestones of the product development process such as the „Engineering series”, the “Pilot run” (PR) and “Start of Production” (SOP) are realised, before the product is finally introduced in the market and tested and graded by the “Stiftung Warentest” (StiWa). In addition to this vital multi-cultural project management process, a well-functioning quality management system is essential, considering that the product has to comply with European quality standards.
