The discovery and marketing of trend sports for adolescent person in major cities

  • Trend sports and especially the development of trends are omnipresent nowadays. In the course of this thesis historical development of sports marketing, trends in general and trend sports in specific are discussed. The sciencebased discovery and marketing research of the trend sport “Parkour” focuses on adolescent person in mayor cities and their media usage respectively. Based on definitions of trend, trend sports and adolescence the fundament for further discussion is set. Based on the gained understanding the fit of “Parkour” is checked for compatibility with an established five phases model for trend sports, in order to evaluate the present phase of its trend sport genesis. In addition, successprove media specific marketing instruments for mass sports are discussed in context of trend sports and the media usage behavior of its target group. The gained insights are discussed along success oriented recommendations and an outlook within the framework of a critical final consideration.
