Abstract
There are multiple different methods of performing a mammareduction plasty. As the result of the operation necessitates a high procedural quality and due to the large pool of variant approaches an ideal technique is difficult to find. In order to face this issue the Department of plastic and hand surgery of the University Hospital of Erlangen has developed with a modified technique. Based on a superior dermoglandular pedicle a caudally de-epithelialized, dermoglandular flap is used [178]. In the following study the complication rate, the quality of results as well as the aesthetics of the breast using the modified method have been reviewed.
