Abstract

The purpose of this master thesis is to develop an algorithm that efficiently combines multiple-Doppler Lidar wind farm wake measurements into a twodimensional wind field. Useful data sets have to be selected to be used for the characterization of wakes with this algorithm. An error analysis will be performed to assess the quality and accuracy of the developed methods. Validation of the algorithm is based on Lidar simulations in a large eddy simulated wind field containing a wind turbine wake. Algorithm results are compared with existing engineering wake models. Recommendations are given for the limitations of the algorithm and under which conditions it can or cannot be applied with sufficient accuracy of the result.
