The geophysical limit of industrial energy production due to heat release, as it has been calculated by R. Doepel in 1973, is updated. The results are compared with IPCC projections to year 3000, which ignore this influence, but consider greenhouse gas emission that was disregarded by Doepel. As he claimed, energy production growth has to be terminated for sustainability.
