Abstract

These reflections stem from a personal and literary interest, because like most Argentine people, we have shared histories that result from high scale movements of whole communities: migrations, displacements, diasporas. Literary representations about exile are built in a complex and unique way, according to the stories experienced by different subjects and their perspectives in a divided world which subordinates the writings. Readings and re-readings of fiction, essays and critical studies that refer to exile present in Latin-American literature and literature all over the world motivate my intervention. This strangement is about places and spaces that during a long history resulted into creative writing areas. Starting from a diversity of writings we go through some theoretical considerations and critics towards the mentioned topics and the way subjects take a stance due to their experiences. As an example, we will analyse two novels: Purgatorio by Tomás Eloy Martínez and El azul de las abejas by Laura Alcoba, which offer us two contrasted visions - the negative conditions of exile and the integration into another culture.
