Abstract

Depressive symptoms do not only influence patients' quality of life but also negatively modify their cognitive capacity. Thus, it is important to survey the depressive status as a covariate within cognitive test settings. Common depression-screenings are usually based on sentences. In order to evaluate these screenings (KOMMA) a sufficient level of reflectivity and speech comprehension are required. Unfortunately, these abilities are not always given for patients with speech disturbances, lack of German skills or cognitive dysfunctions. Hence, it is necessary to develop depression-screenings that reduce language requirements in order to be suitable for this category of patients. The Mini-Depression-Status-Test is a new depression-screening that displays the most relevant depressive dimensions according to ICD-10 by using graphic representations. Corresponding cut-off-values are determined.
