Abstract

This article investigates whether a lexical strategy therapy, which is conducted in German, leads to an increased vocabulary size in the non-treated first language Turkish, beyond the improvements in German vocabulary. For this purpose, data of Turkish-German speaking pupils (n = 25), a sub-sample of a randomized controlled trial [1, 2], were analysed. The results indicate first positive trends of crosslinguistic transfer to Turkish vocabulary as well as such effects on total expressive vocabulary (German and Turkish).
