Abstract

Seit ihrer akademischen Institutionalisierung im Gefolge der Veröffentlichung von Edward Saids Orientalism (1978) wurde und wird die postkoloniale Theoriebildung von der sogenannten kolonialen Diskursanalyse dominiert, als deren bedeutendste Vertreter die oftmals als ›Holy Trinity of Postcolonial Studies‹ bezeichneten Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaftler Edward Said, Homi Bhabha und Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak gelten (s. Kap. 2–4).
