Abstract

Translation of abstract (English)

The thesis tracks the question how the German party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) proceeds with the provision of specialist knowledge. In political science and linguistics, the party was already referred to as populist. However, most of this was done on the basis of investigations that dealt with the favourite topics of the party such as refugee crisis, Islam or EU-politics. My thesis consciously detaches itself from this thematic limitation and examines whether the AfD also applies populist strategies in teaching specialist knowledge. For this purpose party programs and draft bills of the AfD are compared with those of the other parties represented in the 18th German Bundestag (SPD, CDU/CSU, Die LINKE, Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, FDP) on several linguistic levels. The analysis shows that the AfD certainly occupies a special position in the provision of specialist knowledge. It differs in the party program from usual methods of knowledge transfer and acts on the other hand by populist methods, for example by the negation of facts. In the draft bills, the party usually uses common methods. Deviations or even populist strategies can hardly be ascertained here. Obviously, the AfD deviates in the draft bills only there from the norm, where it comes to their favourite topics. This suggests that the AfD is particularly populist in providing specialist knowledge on those types of texts that are targeted at a broad, citizen audience.
