9-part division of Psalter according to decoration. This ms. is referred to by Kottje, loc. cit., as written at Cologne, with a "?"; it is noted by Hoffmann, loc. cit. as written at Cologne.

[1], i8-1 (lacks one at front), ii-xxviii8, xxix2, [1]. Quire signatures I and III-XXIII, on last verso or first recto.
Seiteneinrichtung
Written space: 252 mm x 180 mm 36 lines. ¶ Long lines. Dry-point ruling, double bounding lines, top and bottom lines cross gutter. prickings mostly trimmed off up to around f. 115, then visible near edge of page up to f. 159, and from f. 160 to end of codex in middle of outer margin; prickings where visible tend to be not in a straight line text above top line.

Schrift und Hände

10c littera carolina One hand;

ductus and form of "x" varies, with the first form being used normally in the first half of the codex, the other form in the second half, and in the middle of the codex both forms are used alternately; from f. 184r to end of codex, same hand writes smaller; relief hand on f. 80r lines 16-24.

Buchschmuck

  • Full-page "Beatus vir" enclosed in double frame on f. 1v, with large interlace "B", apparently all done in mixture of copper and gold (now mostly green), with red outline on top of the metallic;
  • 7- to 10-line major initials in same style and material on ff. 28r, 35r, 57v, 80r, 103v, 128v, 157v, 177v;
  • 3- to 6-line simple red initials for other Psalms, with next letter(s) often inside the initial in brown, sometimes filled with red;
  • first words or line sometimes in rustic capitals;
  • tituli in red minuscules or rustic capitals;
  • incidental intials red throughout text.

No marginalia, except "spalterium" in 14- or 15c lead at top of 1v.
