Zustand
A number of smaller holes in parchment, otherwise good quality material. Center three bifolia of last quire (ff. 99-104) are of a heavier, slicker parchment, and have slightly wider text columns.
Lagenstruktur
[1], i1+8 (f. 1 added as contemporary contents page, now separate from rest of quire), ii-xiii8, [1]. No quire signatures.
Seiteneinrichtung
Written space: 187 mm x 173 mm text column varies from 30-135 mm ;outer gloss column is wider than inner gloss; no inner gloss column on some folia; see also sections on columns and collation below.20 lines of text, 42-52 lines in gloss columns (f. 105r has 51 long lines); 40 or more lines ruled, text written every other line, with many interlinear glosses. 2 or 3 columns, 1 main column in middle for text and usually one on either side for gloss; width of text column adjusts to size of gloss columns (see also written space above). Gloss often continues from first column over top of text column. Gloss in two columns occupies entire pages on ff. 42v-43r. Lead ruling, double bounding lines frame text column (two lines between text and gloss), single lines at margins for gloss columns; some quires have an additional line in outer margin, sometimes at prickings prickings near edge of page or at outer bounding line, prickings for main text lines only text above top line except where gloss lines are added above text.

Late 12c littera gothica One hand, except contents on f. 1r added by another hand.

Buchschmuck

  • 8-line "H" (f. 2r), pen-decorated in red, blue and golden brown, foliate; first line in red, second line in blue and golden brown majuscules with minor decoration; incidental initials in red, blue and golden brown; 2-line "C" f .3r; sometimes brown majuscules (mostly Romanesque rustic capitals) at beginnings or ends of columns; small letters written by text hand at edge of pages as cues for rubrication are visible throughout much of the codex.
